More good news for the Brazilian economy.  On this Thursday, the merger between Bovespa and BM&F generates the world’s third largest stock exchange, the second one in the Americas in terms of market value.  The positioning of the organization – named BM&F Bovespa S.A. represents more security for international investors.

The structure of the combined company provides more business growth and profitability, as well as more resources for the development of new products and services. According to Cristóvão Pereira, Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV)’s Finance professor, Brazil’s finance system is globalized and makes some time that the Brazilian stock exchange presents a high-level organization.

- In the last years, Bovespa and BM&F are highly concerned in terms of structure modernization and that is noticed by national and international investors - says Cristóvão.

The BM&F Bovespa S.A is also leader in Latin America in the share market and its derivatives, with interest of approximately of 80% of average daily volume negotiated with shares and more than US$ 67 billion of daily business in the future market.

One of the main advantages of the new structure that is focused on shareholders and investors relationship is the consolidation in the international market. From this positioning, the organization will be more prepared for operate in the macroeconomic dynamic of the Latin American market growth, as well as strengthen the country position as an excellence center in the shares and derivatives negotiation in this area.
