Music motivates and drives us forward, but it can also help us relax and rock us in victory. In times of Rock in Rio in the 2016 games host city, music and sport have many points in common. After talking about the favourite sports of the festival’s main attractions, it is time for our Olympic and Paralympic athletes to get in the event’s mood.

Champions such as French judoka Teddy Riner, US swimmer Missy Franklin, Football idol Neymar Jr and Terezinha Guilhermina, the fastestvisually impaired sprinter in the world,are just some of the great sport icons that took a break from their training agenda and told rio2016.com website what they listen when they need to concentrate and give it their all in competition. Neymar Jr. – Football

In just four seasons as a professional player, the Brazilian Football wonder scored more than 180 goals and today he shines in international Football as part of Spanish team Barcelona. The player made his Olympic debut as part of Brazil national team in the London 2012 Games, winning the silver medal.

Teddy Riner – Judo

Unbeatable since 2010, the French judoka ended up winning his sixth world title. In London 2012, he took gold.

Rafaela Silva – Judo

This year, judoka Rafaela Silva wrote her name in sport history when she won the first gold of Brazilian women’s Judo in a World Cup.

Missy Franklin – Swimming

This US swimmer is only 18 years old, but had her debut in the London 2012 Olympic Games with no fewer than four golds and a bronze. In World Championships, Missy is already unbeatable with nine golds.

Cesar Cielo – Swimming

One of Brazilian Swimming’s leading names of all times, Cielo has been through two Olympic editions (Beijing 2008 and London 2012), winning one gold and two bronzes. In addition, he is three-time world champion in the 50m freestyle and world record holder in the 50m and 100m freestyle.

Chad le Clos – Swimming

At the age of 20, this swimmer beat the greatest Olympic Swimming champion to date, US legend Michael Phelps, during the London 2012 Games. A teen idol, he was nominated Ambassador of the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games and has already said he can hardly wait for Rio 2016.

Daniel Dias – Paralympic Swimming

Winner of six gold medals in the London 2012 Paralympic Games, Daniel Dias is one of the hottest bets for Rio 2016. He is among the nominees for this year’s Paralympic Sports Award.

Ana Cláudia Lemos – Athletics

South American record holder of the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay, Ana Cláudia is expected to have a great performance in the first South American edition of the Games.

Terezinha Guilhermina – Paralympic Athletics

Known as the "the fastest visually impaired sprinter in the world", Terezinha is one of Paralympic Athletics’ greatest names. In the Lyon 2013 World Championships, the sprinter won three gold medals in the 100m, 200m and 400m. She is also nominated for this year’s Paralympic Sports Award.

Isabel Swan – Sailing

Isabel made a name for herself in Brazilian sport when she won the country’s first medal in women’s Sailing during her first Olympic participation, in the Beijing 2008 Games.

Adriana Araújo – Boxing

The only Brazilian Olympic medallist in women’s Boxing also shared her set list.

Alison – Beach Volleyball

Alison took silver in his Olympic debut along Emanuel in Beach Volleyball.

Emanuel – Beach Volleyball

Emanuel has Olympic medals of all colours: gold in Athens 2004, silver in London 2012 and bronze in Beijing 2008. In London, he teamed with Alison and, in Athens and Beijing, he teamed with Ricardo.
