At the Beijing Olympic Games, opening on August 8, there will be a unique Brazilian site. Casa Brasil, a Brazilian promotional space at the Olympic Games, was launched on Thursday, July 24.  The launching happened in Rio de Janeiro and was attended by Minister of Sport Orlando Silva;  Minister of Tourism Luiz Barretto; and by the president of Rio 2016 Candidature Committee and of the Brazilian Olympic Committee (BOC) Carlos Arthur Nuzman.

Casa Brasil will be set up at the Jianguo Garden Hotel, on Beijing’s main avenue. The Brazilian corner will be specially decorated to hoghlight Brazilian tourist attractions and visitors will have a multimedia area available with information about the country. “Besides Brazil’s natural beauty at Casa Brasil we will be presenting to the public our leading products, our stability, technology and competence”,  Minister Orlando Silva said.

To the Minister of Tourismo Luiz Barreto, the launching of Casa Brasil in Rio de Janeiro was emblematic, once Rio is one of candidate cities for 2016 Olympic Games.  “Rio’s candidature gives us another chance to promote Brazilian tourism. At Casa Brasil we will also have the opportunity of presenting a positive image of our country”, Luiz Barretto explained.

With a total cost of R$ 10,450 million Casa Brasil will be funded by the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Sport,  Brazilian Olympic Committee,  Brazilian Exports and Investment Agency (Apex) and Presidency of the Republic Social Communication Secretariat. “I am really pleased with this partnership. Together we will be showing the riches, the values and the beauty of our country. Sport is one of the ways of promoting tourism”, the president of Rio 2016 Candidature Committee declared.
