Bradesco is the first national sponsor of Rio 2016 Olympic Games

Bradesco is the first national sponsor of Rio 2016 Olympic Games, with exclusive rights in the Finance and Insurance Services categories. Thus, as of 2011, Bradesco will be able to use the right to associate corporate brand to Rio 2016 Olympic Games and to the Brazilian Olympic Committee. “Bradesco sponsorship of Rio 2016 Olympic Games is our way of demonstrating the trust we have in entrepreneurial skills of both the Brazilian people and of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Rio will be staging one of the best Olympics in history”, Bradesco Board Chairman Lázaro de Mello Brandão said. “Brazilian people vocation to produce grand and beautiful things is well known, we want to be part of the construction of this sport, social and economic landmark of Brazil since its early stages”. Bradesco CEO Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi said that Rio 2016 already started with a victory since it represents the success of the efforts that have brought Brazilians together, with the wholehearted involvement of the Federal, State and City governments, sports representatives, intellectuals, businesspeople and the population at large. “It was a victory of unity. In the eyes of the world, it is going to be the celebration of Brazil with its positive agenda, modernity, work, social inclusion, and economic development”, he said. “To us at Bradesco, the opportunity of joining this fantastic moment of Brazilian life is both a privilege and a thrill”. “This is a historical moment. We have the honor of counting on institutions of the size, soundness and credibility of Bradesco and Bradesco Seguros as the first partners of Rio 2016 Olympic Games”, Rio 2016 Organizing Committee and BOC President Carlos Arthur Nuzman said, underlining that sponsors are critical to make Games organization feasible. “And this first partnership evidences the recognition of the significance of Rio 2016 Olympic Games as a unique platform and incomparable opportunity for a brand to boost public reach, gain new markets and leverage businesses”. The minimum amount set by Rio 2016 Organizing Committee for the sponsorship of the Finance and Insurance Services categories was five hundred and seventy million reais (R$ 570 million) or three hundred and twenty million dollars (US$ 320 million), including direct transfer of resources and supply of financial, banking and insurance services at Games time. “Bradesco submitted the best bid, including projects aimed at support to the development of Brazilian Olympic sports and promotion of Rio 2016 Olympic Games in the country”, Rio 2016 Committee General Director Leonardo Gryner. The agreement was executed on Monday, November 29th, at Bradesco headquarters, Cidade de Deus, Osasco, São Paulo. Rio 2016 Committee and Bradesco will provide additional information on the partnership on Thursday, December 2nd, during the official launching of Games Commercial Project, in Rio de Janeiro.
