The atmosphere will be electric at the spectacular Copacabana beach volleyball venue for the women's gold medal match. Germany's Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst beat Brazil's top-seeded women's team of Larissa and Talita in the semi-finals on Tuesday, meaning Brazilian hopes now lie with Agatha and Barbara, who beat the USA's Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross late on Tuesday night.
After losing their first two games at Rio 2016, Spain have now won their last three and are in fine form heading into their quarter-final against France as they look to win a medal for the third successive Olympic Games. Spain's Chicago Bulls forward Pau Gasol said it would be a difficult match-up. "They beat us two years ago. We beat them last year. Now we face them again in a critical game like the quarter-finals," he said.
Croatia won their group and will play rivals Serbia. In the other two quarter-finals, Argentina take on USA, while Lithuania play Australia.
When do USA men play next in basketball?
Action at the Olympic Stadium includes the finals of the women's long jump, 200m and 100m hurdles. In long jump, Brittney Reese sealed her place at Rio 2016 by leaping to 7.31m at the USA Olympic trials - the farthest any woman has jumped since 2004.
In the 200m final, look out for Dina Asher-Smith, Great Britain's European champion. Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands is a major contender for gold, as are Tori Bowie for the USA and the Rio 2016 100m gold medallist Elaine Thompson of Jamaica.

The Jamaican remains on target for unprecedented 'triple triple' of 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay golds, for the third Olympic Games in a row. Can he do it?
The seven-time Olympic champion ran 20.28 seconds to win his 200m heat at the Olympic Stadium on Tuesday, but the fastest in the 10 heats was Andre De Grasse of Canada, who timed in at 20.09. Justin Gatlin eased through in 20.42, one of the slowest times in the heats. The semi-finals start at 10pm at the Olympic Stadium.
The Rio 2016 gold medal in mixed doubles badminton will be contested between regional rivals Malaysia and Indonesia.
China's hopes of repeating its London 2012 Olympic Games clean-sweep of all five badminton gold medals evaporated when both its pairs were knocked out in the semi-finals on Monday. Malaysian pair Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying beat the London 2012 mixed doubles silver medallists Xu Chen and Ma Jin in straight games.
The no.1 seeds and defending champions from China, Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei, were dumped out by Indonesia's Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir.

Riocentro Pavillion 6 was jumping on Tuesday evening when Brazil's Robson Conceição grabbed a piece of history by winning his country's first Olympic gold in boxing. He beat Frenchman Sofiane Oumiha in a unanimous decision.
Boxing's next gold medal will be contested in the men's 69kg category, where Shakhram Giyasov of Uzbekistan fights Daniyar Yeleussinov of Kazakhstan. In the women's middleweight quarter-finals, look out for Great Britian's Savannah Marshall, who was the world champion entering London 2012 but was knocked out of the contest at this point four years ago.
Park Inbee leads a quartet bidding to extend the Republic of Korea's dominance of women's golf. Republic of Korea golfers take up nine places among the world's top 20, and four finished in the top 10 at the British Open in July. However, just one of those four, Chin In Gee, the 2015 US Open champion, has made it to Rio.
Inbee is the winner of eight major championships and is one of the all-time greats of golf. Kim Seiyoung, who has won twice on the LPGA tour in 2016, and Yang Hee Young, with five top-three finishes to her name this season, complete the stellar line up. Challengers include teenage stars Lydia Ko of New Zealand and Brooke Henderson of Canada.

China have won both Olympic titles since the team event was introduced at Beijing 2008 and will go for a consecutive clean sweep of all four Olympic gold medals. China plays Japan for gold, while Korea takes on Germany for bronze.

Taekwondo at Rio 2016 promises to be an epic combat competition. It will feature veteran stars chasing yet another podium finish – and a good supply of newcomers keen to take their places.
More top contenders are squeezed into fewer weight categories in Rio, where there are four weight classes each for men and women as opposed to the eight at world championships. It starts with the -58kg division, where reigning world champion Farzan Ashour Zadeh Fllah from Iran, nicknamed 'Tsunami', hopes to sweep his opponents out of the ring. Amongst the women's, Wu Jingyu of China, the Olympic champion at Beijing 2008 and London 2012, is aiming at a record third Olympic gold medal in the -49kg.
