Sixty-five percent of those who applied in the first round of ticketing have been allocated seats to watch the 2016 Olympic Games. The results of the draw will be released tomorrow, 9 June, from 10am. All of the tickets from the quota reserved for Brazilians and foreigners resident in Brazil, at 121 of the 694 sessions available, have now been allocated, including all such tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies, the triathlon, the final football match at Maracanã and the synchronized swimming events.
Only Brazilians and foreigners resident in Brazil were eligible to apply in this first round of ticketing.
Those who applied for tickets will receive an e-mail on Tuesday. Results of the draw will be available online at: www.rio2016.com/ingressos. This is the only way to check the results of ticket applications and no other communications will be sent by the committee about this matter.
From 1 July 2015, fans who applied in the first draw can try again for tickets in the second draw, the results of which will be announced in August. Those who were not successful in the first phase will have priority in the second.
Following the second draw in August, direct online sales will open in October 2015 and box office sales will open in May 2016. Sold-out sessions may become available again in the event of withdrawal, non-payment, contingency release and return of international tickets.
