BOWING OUT IN GLORY
Emotions don't come much stronger than this. On Monday night, Oscar Figueroa became the first male Colombian to win an Olympic gold medal when he triumphed in the men's 62kg weightlifting at his fourth Olympic Games.
The 33-year-old lifted a total of 318kg (142kg snatch and 176kg clean and jerk). After his final attempt, he removed his shoes on the platform, symbolising his retirement from a sport in which he has now become a legend.
