CHEN MAKES OLYMPIC DIVING HISTORY
Chinese diving pair Chen Ruolin and Liu Huixia have won gold in the women's sychronised 10m platform final, a title that makes Chen the joint most prolific diver in Olympic Games history. She now has five golds, the same as her team-mate Wu Minxia.
China, meanwhile, maintain their incredible record of having won every Olympic and world championship title in the women's synchronized platform event since its inception in 2000.

TUNE IN: SOLID START FOR USA GYMNASTS
We're into the second rotation of the artistic gymnastics women's team final, with USA having performed well on the vault in the first. Keep up to date with action.
OAR-SOME RESULT FOR FRANCE
You wait a whole Olympic Games for a medal, and then two come along at once. French canoeist Denis Gargaud Chanut has won gold - France's second of the day so far - in the men's canoe slalom single. Slovakia's Matej Benus took silver and Japan's Takuya Haneda claimed bronze.
PASSINHO BASKETBALL BATTLE
The craze for passinho, a style of dancing which evolved from the carioca funk scene, and which became popular in huge outdoor parties in Rio's favela communities, has now taken the entire city by storm. A dancer called Beiçola recorded a video of himself and friends demonstrating the dance at an afternoon BBQ in 2008. Suddenly everyone was uploading clips. Since then the dance has gone global. At the bustling Rio 2016 live site entertainment area in Madureira in northern Rio, organisers decided to throw a basketball into the mix. Watch what happened here:
TUNE IN NOW: BASKETBALL THRILLER
There's a heck of a game going on at Carioca Arena 1, where there is very little to separate the Brazil and Spain men's basketball teams. The hosts, backed by a raucous crowd, are currently 63-59 ahead with just under four minutes on the clock in the final quarter. Follow the climax here.
SONNY BILL WILLIAMS OUT OF RIO 2016
New Zealand rugby star Sonny Bill Williams has been ruled out of the rest of the men's rugby sevens tournament because of an Achilles tendon injury.
The 31-year-old centre limped off in the second half of Japan's surprise 14-12 defeat of the All Blacks in their opening pool C game on Tuesday.

ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD
The Olympic cauldron in downtown Rio is attracting thousands. It's opposite the 19th century neoclassical church of Candelária near the huge Olympic Boulevard live site. Since the lighting of the Olympic cauldron at the opening ceremony on Friday (5 August), this extraordinary artistic creation by US sculptor Anthony Howe has become a star of social media and selfies in its own right. Howe's vision was to replicate the sun, using movement to mimic its pulsing energy and reflection of light. (Photo: Rio 2016/Alex Ferro)

FAN-TASTIC
If you like it when people wear silly glasses, ridiculous hats, bright blue wigs and outrageous accessories on their nude torsoes all because they love the Olympic Games so much, then have a look at this.
'MINNOWS' TAKE DOWN AN ALL BLACK SHARK
Japan's Lomano Lemeki said his side increasingly gained confidence against New Zealand in men's rugby sevens as they went on to defeat the All Blacks 14-12 at Deodoro Stadium.
"You never see a minnow come here and beat a team which is supposed to be a gold medal contender," he said. "I am still shocked, to be honest. We thought, if we keep on moving the ball around, the big guys will tire somewhere and eventually they did," he said following both team's first match of the group stage.
"We had a game plan against New Zealand — play at our pace and they would get frustrated." No doubt the Kiwis are frustrated now.

MUZZA MAKES THE LAST 16
Olympic champion Andy Murray has eased through his second round men's singles tennis match, winning 6-3, 6-1 against Argentina's Juan Monaco.
Especially pleasing for the centre court crowd was that the British no.1 threw them lots of tennis balls at the end, while Monaco gave them his shirt and a couple of rackets. Guess he thinks he won't be needing them any more.

BRAZIL TAKES THE LEAD AGAINST MIGHTY FIJI
Looks like Deodoro Stadium is the venue to be in in Rio this afternoon. After the shock of Japan's victory against New Zealand and Argentina beat the USA, there were great scenes as Brazil took a 5-0 lead against mighty Fiji, the reigning world champions.
In the end, Fiji imposed themselves on the match and ran out 40-12 winners, but not before a mighty shock. The atmosphere in the stadium is terrific. Welcome back rugby!
GREAT DANES PREPARE FOR HANDBALL
Frederik, Jens-Christian, Ann-Katherine, Phillip and Sangela have come all the way from tiny Denmark to cheer on their country in handball at the Future Arena this afternoon. Denmark are something of a handball power and could be amongst the medals in Rio. They'll be making their debut against Tunisia soon.
