Team USA women's basketball team are getting ready to take on Senegal at noon in early group B pool play. Team USA have won five consecutive Olympic gold medals - a feat no other tradittional women's team sport has accomplished. The Americans open their 2016 Olympic run with a 41-Olympic game winning streak, dating back to the 1992 bronze medal game. 

Senegal finished 12th in the 2000 Olympics and first in the 2015 African Championship.

TENDULKAR IN RIO
He may not be an Olympian, but Sachin Tendulkar is one of the most recognisable sportsmen in the world. The Indian cricketing legend has god-like status in his own country and is in Rio to cheer on the Indian Olympic team and soak up the atmosphere. The former cricketer took time out from the sporting events to visit Christ the Redeemer in glorious Rio weather.
