SERBIA MARCHING TOWARDS USA REMATCH
The second men's basketball semi-final is currently a more one-sided affair than Australia would have hoped. The Boomers are trailing Serbia 57-31 towards the end of the third quarter, with the Europeans on course to get another crack at playing the USA after being narrowly defeated by the gold medal favourites in the group stage.

DALEY LAPS UP RIO 2016 ATMOSPHERE
British diver Tom Daley quaified for the final of the men's 10m platform in style, and it seems he may have been spurred on by the lively carioca crowd.
"It was a good atmosphere," Daley said after finishing first in the preliminary with an impressive score of 571.85. "It wasn't just a normal preliminary where it's long and people just clap because they feel like they have to clap. People were actually getting excited about the diving."
The London 2012 Olympic Games bronze medallist will be hoping those fans can roar him to gold on Saturday.

GERMANY CLINCH FIRST FOOTBALL GOLD
Germany have held on against Sweden to win 2-1 in the women's football final. A peach of a strike from Dzsenifer Marozsan and Linda Sembrant's own goal put the Germans 2-0 ahead and, although Stina Blackstenius pulled one back, the gold medal goes to the world's no.2-ranked team. After three successive victories for the USA, we have a new women's football Olympic champion.
BUT DON'T RULE OUT THE SWEDES JUST YET...
Stina Blackstenius has just dragged them back into the game with a close-range finish. It's 2-1 to Germany and we could be in for a riveting climax.
GERMANY TAKE 2-0 FOOTBALL LEAD
What a nightmare for Sweden's Linda Sembrant. After Sweden goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl parries a short, defender Sembrant diverts the ball into her own net with her shin in almost-comical fashion. Germany are 2-0 ahead with 25 minutes remaing. They are on the brink of their first ever women's football gold medal.
NETHERLANDS 0-1 GREAT BRITAIN...
The Brits make the first successful effort, but the Dutch go next... hits the post!
NETHERLANDS 0-0 GREAT BRITAIN...
The goalkeepers are still on top. It's goalless after two efforts each.
NETHERLANDS 0-0 GREAT BRITAIN...
The first three efforts in the shoot-out are saved... Holland to go next.
HOCKEY SHOWDOWN GOES TO PENALTIES!
Great Britain have held on for a 3-3 draw against the Netherlands in the women's hockey final. A superb rearguard action. We will have a shoot-out.
GB STUN HOLLAND... AGAIN
The Great Britain hockey side does not when its beaten. After facing a barrage of pressure from the Netherlands, Nicola White has prodded home a scrappy equaliser after a penalty corner. The Dutch have dominated for large periods but the scores are level at 3-3. Can Team GB pull off a major shock?
SWEDEN HOLDING GERMANS IN FINAL
The Sweden women's football team has only won one match at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, but they're in the final and they still have every chance of winning gold. The Scandinavians - who won both their knockout games on penalties - are playing a defensive game and frustrating their higher-ranked opponents. It's 0-0 at half-time.
HOLLAND REGAIN HOCKEY LEAD
Dutch pressure has paid off at the Olympic Hockey Centre. After a series of penalty corners, Kitty van Male finally finds the net from close range after a cleverly worked set-piece. Great Britain have already come from behind once in this match. Can they do it again? It's 3-2 to the Netherlands.
