BASKETBALL: USA v FRANCE
The second of the women's basketball semi-finals is underway. France had taken a slight lead but the USA have now abolished that after some quick-fire mid-range jumpers.

TEAM USA QUALIFY FASTEST AFTER RELAY RE-RUN
After it was ruled that the Brazilian team interrupted USA's 4x100m relay run in the heats, the team were allowed to re-run the race...alone. Bizarre to watch it may have been, but the team managed to clock the fastest qualifying time of 41.76.

PURE EMOTION ON THE HOCKEY FIELD

HISTORY MADE: ARGENTINA 4 BELGIUM 2
Argentina have won their first ever men's hockey medal! The Belgians simply couldn't force their way back into it. The huge Argentine contingent in the stands is going crazy, as they have been throughout most matches at all Rio 2016 events. Fans of the Games?

OLYMPIC BOULEVARD WAS POPPING ONCE AGAIN TODAY
One of Rio 2016's major fan sites, with live screens, food trucks, live music, street art and a whole host of other attractions, Olympic Boulevard is genuinely one of the places to be in the Olympic city during the Games. And today was no different.

If you haven't been there yet, make sure you get down there and check it out soon!

MINI BOLTS
Apparently you can even get your own Bolt action figures now...

Can the real Usain break his 200m record in the final tonight?
He runs at 10:30pm. Make sure you're tuned in.

JUST LOOK AT THE QUEUE FOR THE ATHLETICS...
The queue to get into the evening session of athletics is soon to be going around the corner of the Olympic Stadium. I wonder what all these people are queuing for..? (HINT: Bolt is running the 200m final tonight!)

British ride Liam Phillips crashed out of his men's individual quarter-finals after a nasty fall resulted in him being stretchered off. Although in hospital, he has tweeted that's he OK.

MEN'S HOCKEY FINALS: ARGENTINA 3 BELGIUM 1
The first-ever Latin American team to reach the men's hockey finals look like they could win it. There are still two full periods to go though.

Argentine support is as always...

HANDBALL: FRANCE MAKE THE FINALS
This one went down to the very last shot. The Netherlands did amazingly well to come back into the game, but France walk away deserved winners.

Who they play will be decided at 8:30pm when defending champs Norway take on Russia.

BACK ON TERRA FIRMA
Brazilian sailing champions Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze were given a hero's welcome back on dry land.

SPAIN ARE GOING TO THE FINAL!
It looked like the score might get embarrassing there for a second but Serbia put up a noble fight, leaving the final score at 68-54. The Spanish women are going to their first-ever Olympic final.

Forgive us for assuming it will be against Team USA, who the Spanish men also face in their semi-final. International basketball has become quite the Spanish-American affair over the past few years.

HANDBALL: FRANCE v NETHERLANDS
We're coming into the final 15 minutes at the Future Arena and France are still leading the way, but only by 2. Get ready for a close finish!

As if the prospect of a first-time wasn't enough for the Dutch women, the king is here.

AMERICAN AIMING FOR A REPEAT OF LONDON
With just two events left to go, Ashton Eaton is over 100 points ahead of his nearest competitor in the decathlon. The American is the world record holder in the event, and a repeat of his gold in London will make him the first decathlete to retain his title since Daley Thompson at Los Angeles '84.
