Russia can't quite seem to get away from Norway. Neither team looks to have one foot in the final just yet. 

AND THE FIRST MEDALS OF THE EVENING GO TO...
Ryan Rouser and Joe Kovacs have made it an American one-two for the first medals of the night at the shot put final. Rouser thre an Olympic record 22.52m. Elemba Franck was cruelly denied a bronze, which would have been Congo's first-ever Olympic medal, by Kiwi Tomas Walsh with his last throw.

WOMEN'S HANDBALL SEMI-FINAL NO.2
Russia are up 18-16 at halftime against Norway at the Future Arena. Norway are the reigning champions and came back strongly at the end of the first half so the same can be expected in the second half.

The winner will play France for gold on Saturday.
