VOLLEYBALL: BRAZIL v ARGENTINA
It's all squared at one set a piece in the Maracanãzinho and Brazil are 4-0 up in the third set.
'THAT WAS A STUPID MOVE' - BOLT ON ANDRE DE GRASSE
When told by a Jamaican TV reporter that 'Degrasse said he wanted to push you to see what you had,' Bolt responded how only Bolt can.
"No, that was a stupid move," said the 100m Olympic champion. "That's all I can say because, you know, he might not know it now but he's going to feel it tomorrow. You save as much energy as you can through the rounds, you run as fast as you need to run through the rounds because the 200 is not easy. And there's a lot of competition. And if you make mistakes at the start you can mess it up at the end."
TIE-BREAK FOR THE BRONZE ON THE SAND
After winning a set each, the Brazilian pairing of Larissa Franca and Talita Rocha have been forced into a tie-break set against Americans Kerri Walsh and April Ross.
WOMEN'S 200M FINAL: IT'S A SPRINT DOUBLE FOR ELAINE THOMPSON
The 24-year-old 100m champion has won the 200m final, fighting off a late surge from pre-Olympics favourite Dafne Schippers.
Both runners ran season's bests, but Schipper's 21.88 wasn't enough to beat Thompson's 21.78. American Tori Bowie won bronze with 22.15.
JUSTIN GATLIN FAILS TO QUALIFY
The 100m silver medallist failed to qualify for the 200m final after finishing third in his heat. He appeared to be taking it too easy on the home straight, failing to leave a big enough cushion between himself and the rest of the field.
Tianna Bartoletta has responded with her final jump! She jumps a new personal best of 7.17m. The lead has changed more than three times and the women are pushing each other to new lengths. This is what long jump competitions should be like.
Long jump: Brittney Reese has out jumped her compatriot and second place Spanovic to take the lead in her final jump! The American lept 7.09m after two no jumps. Talk about handling the pressure.
200M SEMI-FINAL TWO: BOLT
19.78 for Bolt. The fastest time run so far. But perhaps run is the wrong verb.
MEN'S 200M SEMI-FINAL ONE
In semi-final one of the 200m Lashawn Merritt, the fastest in the world this year, will have the chance to stretch his legs and put some added pressure on Usain Bolt.
Update: 19.94 for Merritt. He didn't look like he was pushing too hard either. Frenchman Christophe Lemaitre came through strong at the end to take second.
It's Bolt time...
Long jump: This is getting interesting. Tianna Bartoletta has matched Ivana Spanovic's leading jump of 6.95 with her second effort.
