TUNE IN NOW: NADAL GOES FOR GOLD

The first of two golds, in fact. Having reached the semi-finals of the men's singles finals just a few hours ago, Rafael Nadal is back on the court for the men's doubles final. The tiredness doesn't seem to be affecting him so far.

He and partner Marc Lopez took the first set 6-2 against Romanian duo Florin Mergea and Horia Tecau, although the Spanish pair are currently a break down in the second. Nadal could probably do without that extra set! Follow the score.

WIGGINS ANTICIPATES HANGOVER

Bradley Wiggins is giving an entertaining post-match analysis after winning team pursuit gold, breaking the world record and becoming Britain's most decorated Olympian with eight medals.

He has variously revealed that will not be going to Tokyo 2016, that the race was "one of the best finals ever" and was also "horrible", that the roar in the Velodrome was so loud that he thought he was in Britain and, finally, that he will be hungover on Saturday morning.

"I wanted to end like this. Not with some crappy little race in the north of France," he added. The Olympic Games will miss Wiggo.

KERBER SETS UP FINAL DATE WITH PUIG

The Rio 2016 Olympic Games women's tennis gold medal match will be contested by Monica Puig and Angelique Kerber, who has just beaten the USA's Madison Keys 6-3, 7-5.

Puig could win Puerto Rico's first ever Olympic gold medal, and their first of any colour at these Games, so she's understandably excited about it.

TUNE IN NOW: USA v SERBIA

After the women's team dominated Canada earlier, the USA men's basketball team have their big guns on the court for the enticing preliminary round match-up with Serbia. Follow the scores.

FOR PENNY, A CAMPAIGN TO BRING BACK THE CANADIAN PENNY
Sixteen-year-old Canadian swimmer Penny Oleksiak has four medals, which is almost half of Canada's total medal haul so far at Rio 2016. (They have nine medals, two of them gold.) The country is so jubilant with her success, one fan has a suggestion for the Canadian mint, which stopped issuing the one-cent coin in 2013.

Oleksiak, who was rewarded with tickets to a sold-out Drake concert, won Canada's first gold medal, which came in the women's 100m freestyle on 11 August. She claimed silver in the 100m butterfly and two bronze medals in the 4x100m and 4x200m freestyle relays.

GOLD FOR GREAT BRITAIN, HISTORY FOR WIGGINS

GB break the men's team pursuit world record for the second time in under two hours as they beat Australia in the final in a time of 3:50.265. That's team member Bradley Wiggins' eighth Olympic medal, which makes him the most decorated British Olympian of all time. An incredible achievement.

Now it's Britain v Australia in the track cycling team pursuit final...

CHINESE CYCLISTS WIN GOLD, MAKE OLYMPIC HISTORY, BREAK WORLD RECORD

Not a bad day's work for Gong Jinjie and Zhong Tianshi in the women's team sprint.

GOLF LEADER SURPRISED AT SUCCESS

"If someone had told me I would be in this position at the start of the week, I would have told them to go somewhere," was what Marcus Fraser had to say at the end of the second day's play in the Rio 2016 gold tournament, which the Australian leads by a stroke.

There were no holes in one for Britain's Justin Rose on Friday, but he is one of several players who remain in medal contention.

ANOTHER JUDO MEDAL FOR BRAZIL

Their names are almost the same, and now they have another thing in common too. Brazilian judokas Rafael Silva and Rafaela Silva have both won medals at Rio 2016.

Rafael has secured bronze in his +100kg contest against Abdullo Tangriev of Uzbekistan, adding to the gold won by Rafaela earlier this week. That's a total of four medal for Brazil at these Games - three of them in judo.

RINER IS GOLDEN
The defending London 2012 champion from France beat Japan's Hisayoshi Harasawa by ippon to win the gold at Rio 2016.

And it's double success for the French on the judo mat because Emilie Andeol has upset favourite Idalys Ortiz, of Cuba, to clinch gold in the women's +78kg.

TUNE IN NOW: WATCH GIANT TEDDY DEFEND STATUS AS BEST JUDOKA EVER
France's Teddy Riner competes now against Japan's Hisayoshi Harasawa in the men's 100kg judo gold medal final.

GB CYCLISTS BREAK WORLD RECORD

And what a heat it was from Wiggins and co! Team GB have smashed the team pursuit world record with a time of 3:50.570. And Wiggo has already tweeted about it!

Starting to consider the possibility that maybe someone else is running this Twitter account.

KNIGHT ON A BIKE

Great Britain's four-time Olympic gold medallist and former Tour de France champion Sir Bradley Wiggins has just set off in his solitary event of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games - the men's team pursuit. Impressively, he even managed to tweet about it just before his heat.
