GOLF MAKES HISTORIC RETURN AS BRAZIL TEES OFF
With one swing, Adilson da Silva of Brazil put golf back into the Olympic Games for the first time in 112 years. The lone Brazilian in the 60-man field was selected to hit the opening tee shot at the Olympic Golf Course in a proud moment for the sport. His drive went right down the middle of the fairway, and da Silva smiled and removed his cap to wave at the crowd.

GOOD MORNING, RIO DE JANEIRO!
After a deluge fell on the Olympic Park yesterday, today dawns sunny and clear. Today at the Olympic Games, 21 gold medals are up for grabs in 11 sports.

On deck to impress are USA stars Simone Biles and Michael Phelps. She is already the most-decorated gymnast in history and is chasing her second Olympic gold. Phelps, you may have heard, is after his 22nd gold.

The semi-finals of men's rugby sevens see Fiji facing the surprisie of the tournament, Japan, while South Africa plays Great Britain. Cycling moves indoors for the men's sprint team finals, giving gear junkies plenty of high-lights as high-tech equipment could help athletes shave seconds off the clock. Rowing, cancelled for two days due to high winds, will hand out six gold medals. The king of spin will be crowned in the men's table tennis singles.

Medals will also be awarded in fencing, judo, archery, canoe slalom and shooting.

THAT'S A WRAP

It's been another belting day of Olympic Games action - relive the best bits here.

We'll be back tomorrow with the all your Rio-Time Updates - here are nine things you won't want to miss.

For those here in Brazil, the most important thing is that Neymar and his team-mates will still be here too.

SWIMMING CHAMPION 'PREFERS BASKETBALL'

Australia's 18-year-old swimming sensation Kyle Chalmers followed up his shock victory in the men's 100m freestyle final by confessing that, actually, he's not even that into swimming really.

"I'm someone who does not follow swimming too much. I follow basketball, football and soccer," Chalmers said after the race.

Imagine how good at swimming he'll be when he starts getting interested in it!

COLOMBIA UP NEXT FOR NEYMAR

Brazil's reward for their 4-0 demolition of Denmark is a quarter-final tie against South American rivals Colombia. Here's the last-eight men's football draw in full:

Brazil v Colombia

Portugal v Germany

South Korea v Honduras

Nigeria v Denmark

USA GIRLS BOSS THE POOL

And there go four more gold medals for the all-conquering USA swimming team. Katie Ledecky anchors the awesome foursome to gold in the 4x200m freestyle relay to claim her third gold medal of these Olympic Games. Leah Smith, Madeline Dirado and Allison Schmitt made up the quarter, while Australia took silver and Canada bronze.

Team USA were so confident about winning they'd already prepared this tweet.
