USA GYMNASTS CONTINUE TO ASTOUND US ALL
Simone Biles of the USA is the women's individual all-round Olympic champion after putting up a remarkable score of 62.189 with the overall highest scores on floor, beam and vault.
Aly Raisman, also of the USA, won silver with 60.098. Aliya Mustafina of Russia won bronze with 58.665.
WHO CAN MAKE PHELPS AND CO. LOOK LIKE TADPOLES?
After their dominant display in the men's 4x200 freestyle relay last night, Michael Phelps and his team-maters were visited by the USA basketball team, who watched from the stands.
Despite the obvious Olympic bodies on display, the champion swimmers were made to look rather more human by the presence of the NBA giants.
CALL HER 'REBEYONCÉ'
In the women's all-round individual competition, Brazil's Rebeca Andrade performed her wildly entertaining and energetic floor routine to a mix of Beyoncé songs, including 'All The Single Ladies' and 'Crazy In Love.'

A fitting contrast, USA dynamo Simone Biles performs a floor routine using a classic samba tune.
After three rotations, Biles is in the lead. Andrade, 17, earned 13,766 on the floor, a score that was not well received by the crowd at Rio Olympic Arena.

WORLD RECORD! WOMEN'S TEAM PURSUIT
Team GB are once again showing dominance in Olympic track cycling as another record has fallen. This time, it is the women's team pursuit quartet of of Katie Archibald, Laura Trott, Elinor Barker and Joanna Rowsell-Shand who have clocked a time of 4:13.260 to better the world record set last year.
CABIN FEVER STRIKES YOHAN BLAKE
Having been in Rio for over two weeks, Yohan Blake looks as though he is itching to get out on the Olympic track. The joint second fastest man in history has posted a video of himself dancing to Michael Jackson in his room. Stay strong, Yohan! Only two more days until you can tear up that track.
The men's 100m heats start at midday on Saturday.
TUNE IN NOW: WOMEN'S ALL-ROUND INDIVIDUAL GYMNAST WILL BE CROWNED
After their dominance in the women's team event, Team USA competitors Simone Biles and Aly Raisman compete for individual medals at Rio Olympic Arena right now.
After two partial rotations on vault and bars — including a tremendous score of 15.666 on the former — Russia's Aliya Mustafina is currently in the lead. Biles is second with 30.866 points. Raisman is third with 29.799 points.

MEN'S SPRINT CYCLING STANDINGS
Team GB dominated the men's sprint qualifying at the velodrome, posting an Olympic record time of 42.562 to qualify in first place. The first round starts at 5:10pm.

CHRIS HOY PEP TALK = GOLD?
The six-time gold medallist claims to have given Great Britain's rugby sevens team a talking to before their final day of competition, which so far has seen them qualify for the gold medal match against Fiji. Perhaps he could also talk to the Brazilian football team before they take on Colombia in the quarter-finals this Saturday.
MURRAY SURVIVES A SCARE
World no.2 Andy Murray has survived dropping a set to Fabio Fognini in their third round match. The Brit now marches on to the quarter-finals and keeps alive the dream of defending his Olympic title.
GOLD MEDAL: MAIALEN CHOURRAUT WIPES AWAY THE FIELD!
The Spaniard took the gold medal with a time that was more than a full three seconds faster than her closest opponent's. It was Spain's second gold medal of Rio 2016.
