Sports
Since its debut in the 1896 Olympic Games, shooting has grown from three events to 17. This leap is attributed, in part, to the advances in equipment technology. One of the best examples of the passion that shooters have for this sport is Hungarian shooter Karoly Takacs, and part of his country’s shooting team, who took home the gold in 1938. After losing his right hand in an accident, Takacs learned to shoot with his left and won two gold medals: one in London (1948) and one in Helsinki (1952).
